Pluto in Aquarius.
Pluto entered Aquarius for good on November 19, 2024, and stays until 2044 — a twenty-year overhaul of power, technology, and who 'the people' actually are.

The mechanics
What's happening
Pluto in Aquarius
Pluto — the slow planet of power, control, and forced transformation — made its final ingress into Aquarius on November 19, 2024, after a two-year back-and-forth across the Capricorn/Aquarius line (first taste March 2023). It now stays in Aquarius until 2043–2044.
The last time Pluto was in Aquarius was roughly 1778–1798 — the American and French revolutions, the first factories, the rights of 'the common person' rewritten. Pluto in Aquarius transforms the structures of collective power: institutions, networks, technology, who counts as 'we'.
For 2026 specifically, Pluto retrogrades from May 6 to October 15, sliding back through the early degrees — a period that re-surfaces what the ingress first stirred up rather than breaking new ground.
The tell
What it feels like
- A sense that the old hierarchies — governments, employers, platforms — are being stress-tested to the foundation.
- Technology (AI especially) stops being a tool and starts rewriting the rules of power.
- A pull toward the group, the network, the cause — and a darker question of who really controls it.
- Personally: wherever early Aquarius sits in your chart is where you're being remade over this decade.

How long it lasts
Brace, or build?
This is a generational transit: Pluto is in Aquarius from November 19, 2024 through 2043–2044, with a brief return to the very end of Capricorn already behind us. It moves degree by degree, so it hits each part of the Aquarius story in sequence over twenty years — early Aquarius now, late Aquarius in the early 2040s.
The move
What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Stop gripping a structure that's already being rebuilt — a job, a platform, a belief about how power works — and ask where you have real, un-borrowed agency inside the new system. Pluto rewards the person who transforms on purpose over the one who waits to be transformed.
Common questions
Questions, answered
Is Pluto in Aquarius affecting me right now?
Yes — it's a collective transit, so everyone is under it from November 19, 2024 on. How personally you feel it depends on where early Aquarius falls in your birth chart: the house it's crossing is the area of your life being slowly rebuilt. You'll feel it most directly if you have planets or angles in the first degrees of Aquarius, or of the other fixed signs — Taurus, Leo, Scorpio.
How long does Pluto stay in Aquarius?
About twenty years. Pluto made its final ingress on November 19, 2024 and stays in Aquarius until 2043–2044, after the two-year back-and-forth across the Capricorn line that started in March 2023. It's a generational chapter, not a passing mood.
Is Pluto retrograde in 2026?
Yes. In 2026 Pluto is retrograde from May 6 to October 15, sliding back through the early degrees of Aquarius. Retrograde Pluto doesn't reverse anything — it re-surfaces what the ingress first stirred up so you can deal with it more deliberately.
What does Pluto in Aquarius mean for the world?
It transforms collective power — institutions, technology, networks, and who counts as 'the people.' The last time Pluto was here (1778–1798) brought revolutions and the first factories. This time the obvious pressure point is technology, AI especially, shifting from a tool to a force that rewrites the rules of power. It's a pressure map, not a prophecy.
