Neptune opposition your Ascendant.

Neptune dissolves whatever it touches: it softens, blurs, idealizes and lets go. It brings imagination, compassion and longing, and the fog in which it is hard to see what is real. Your Ascendant is your rising sign: how you meet the world, your body and appearance, and in Whole Sign astrology the doorway to your first house and every house after it.

An opposition puts the transiting planet directly across the chart from your natal point: the two drives face each other, usually through another person or an outside event, and the tension asks for a balance. Oppositions arrive through relationships. Here the transiting Neptune makes a opposition to your natal Ascendant, so Neptune's drive meets how you meet the world at that angle. Neptune runs a 165-year cycle, so each angle to this point happens once, if at all.

Neptune takes about fourteen years per sign, so a transit to one point lasts about two years across up to five passes. It is felt as a slow season rather than an event: a year of fog, a year of clearing.

See the partner clearly, list what you know, and keep one part of yourself that does not merge. Neptune on the Descendant makes compassionate partnerships once it sees.
