Our approach to astrology
We believe astrology works best as a framework for interpretation, not prediction. Transits do not cause events. They describe the quality of time and mark periods when certain themes become more salient. A Saturn transit does not guarantee hardship, but it does signal a period when themes of structure, limitation, and maturation are more likely to surface in your experience.
This approach shifts the value of astrology from fortune-telling to pattern recognition. When you can name the archetypal energy active in your life, you gain more agency in how you engage with it. That is where astrological intelligence becomes practically useful.
We also prioritize relationship context. Individual charts matter, but astrology becomes most revealing when you examine how charts interact. Danu is designed to hold multiple charts in memory and explore the synastry, composite, and transit dynamics that shape your relationships over time.
How interpretation works
Danu calculates your chart using industry-standard Swiss Ephemeris data. We support multiple house systems, with Whole Sign houses as the default for their clarity and historical grounding. Placidus and other quadrant systems are available for users who prefer them.
Interpretation happens through a combination of astrological logic and conversational AI. When you ask a question or request a reading, Danu analyzes the relevant chart factors, synthesizes the archetypal themes, and articulates them in language that balances astrological precision with accessibility.
The quality of interpretation improves with use. As you ask more questions, save more people, and engage with different contexts, Danu builds a richer model of what matters to you. This allows the system to deliver more contextually relevant insights over time.
Memory and relationship context
Every conversation you have with Danu contributes to a growing memory system. When you ask about a challenging transit, reflect on a relationship dynamic, or explore a career question, those threads become part of your contextual history.
This memory layer allows Danu to notice recurring themes, track how you relate to specific astrological factors, and tailor future interpretations to your established interests. Rather than treating each conversation as isolated, the system builds coherence across sessions.
For Premium users, conversation memory extends beyond one year, and relationship data persists indefinitely. This makes Danu viable as a long-term astrological companion rather than a disposable app.
Privacy commitment
Your birth data, relationship charts, and conversation history are private. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it to train external models. The interpretive AI works within the boundaries of your account.
You can export your data at any time and delete your account permanently. When you delete your account, all associated charts, conversations, and memory contexts are removed from our systems.
Danu operates on explicit user action. We do not send unsolicited notifications, spam your inbox with daily horoscopes, or nudge you to engage when you have not asked. The system serves you when you choose to use it.
