• Chart Calculations: Your birth data is used to calculate precise natal charts, transits, and returns using Swiss Ephemeris.

• Daily Insights: We generate personalized daily insights based on current planetary transits to your natal chart.
• Relationship Analysis: Birth data for circle members enables synastry (compatibility) calculations.
• Service Improvement: Anonymous usage patterns help us improve the app experience.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in our PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (neon.tech), a secure cloud database provider. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL and at rest using AES-256 encryption.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Danu:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Powers Danu's conversations and interpretations. Your chart data and messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models.
• Stripe: Handles payment processing for subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment information.
• Neon: Hosts our database infrastructure with enterprise-grade security.
• Mapbox: Provides geocoding for birth location search. Only the location query is sent, not personal identifying information.
• Vercel: Hosts our web application with industry-standard security practices.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or business purposes.
