The mechanics
What's happening
Jupiter square your Ascendant
Jupiter expands whatever it touches: it enlarges, opens, over-promises and pays out. It brings opportunity, confidence and growth, and the risk of too much. Your Ascendant is your rising sign: how you meet the world, your body and appearance, and in Whole Sign astrology the doorway to your first house and every house after it.
A square puts the transiting planet ninety degrees from your natal point: the two drives cross at right angles, and the friction forces a change. Squares are the transits that make things happen, usually through a problem. Here the transiting Jupiter makes a square to your natal Ascendant, so Jupiter's drive meets how you meet the world at that angle. Jupiter runs a twelve-year cycle, so this contact repeats every twelve years at the same angle.
The tell
What it feels like
- Work or family asks you to be bigger than you have been.
- You overextend socially or professionally and feel spread thin.
- Your image and your reality drift apart for a while.

How long it lasts
Brace, or build?
Jupiter takes about a year per sign, so a transit to one point lasts a few weeks on a single pass, or up to nine months when the retrograde loop brings three passes. The felt window is roughly a month either side of each exact pass.
The move
What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Choose which front to grow on, home or career, and let the other hold steady. The square rewards a deliberate expansion over a scattered one.
