The mechanics
What's happening
Neptune square your Venus
Neptune dissolves whatever it touches: it softens, blurs, idealizes and lets go. It brings imagination, compassion and longing, and the fog in which it is hard to see what is real. Your Venus is how you love and what you value: relationships, pleasure, money as worth, and taste.
A square puts the transiting planet ninety degrees from your natal point: the two drives cross at right angles, and the friction forces a change. Squares are the transits that make things happen, usually through a problem. Here the transiting Neptune makes a square to your natal Venus, so Neptune's drive meets your Venus at that angle. Neptune runs a 165-year cycle, so each angle to this point happens once, if at all.
The tell
What it feels like
- A relationship is not what it seemed.
- You are deceived or deceive yourself about love.
- Financial fog and overspending on comfort.

How long it lasts
Brace, or build?
Neptune takes about fourteen years per sign, so a transit to one point lasts about two years across up to five passes. It is felt as a slow season rather than an event: a year of fog, a year of clearing.

What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Do not commit under the square; clarify. Get the money looked at by someone sober. The square clears, and what it cleared was never real.
