What it is
What Mars rules
Mars: the drive in you
Mars rules action and appetite: how you assert yourself, pursue what you want, handle conflict, and express anger and desire. It's the raw motor of the chart — the will to do, not just be.
Where the Sun is who you are and Venus is what you want, Mars is how you go get it. It rules Aries, the sign of pure initiative.
Rules Aries.
The tell
How it shows up
- It's how you fight — head-on, cold, avoidant, or slow to boil and then all at once.
- It sets what you'll actually chase versus just admire from a distance.
- Your physical drive and your temper both trace here: the accelerator and the flare-up run off the same engine.
The hard part
The shadow
What to watch for
Mars unchecked is reactivity and force — picking fights to feel alive, mistaking dominance for strength, or (turned inward) burning yourself down instead of aiming the heat outward.
The move
What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Give Mars a target worth the fire. Anger and drive aren't the problem; aimlessness is. Point the heat at something you're building and it becomes courage instead of collateral.
