What it is
A opposition between Mercury and Mars
The opposition
An opposition is a polarity — two drives staring at each other across the chart. The work of the placement is holding both ends without letting one impersonate the other.
Mercury: mind
Mercury is your mind at work — how you think, talk, learn, and connect the dots.
Mars: drive
Mars is your engine — drive, desire, and the way you fight for and go after what you want.
The tell
How it shows up
- You attract people who argue with you, or you argue with the quiet ones.
- You sharpen your ideas against opposition and need it.
- Disagreement feels like attack until you learn it is not.
The hard part
The shadow
Named, not flattered
Projection: you cast others as hostile and yourself as reasonable, and the fight never ends because it was inside you. Verbal combat as intimacy.
The move
What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Argue on purpose with people you respect, and lose once a month gracefully. The opposition makes a formidable debater once it stops needing an enemy.
