What it is
A square between Sun and Mars
The square
A square is friction that works: two drives at cross-purposes, neither willing to yield. Charts that carry one tend to build something with the grinding — the tension is the engine.
Sun: identity
The Sun is who you're becoming — your core identity, your vitality, and the thing you're here to shine at.
Mars: drive
Mars is your engine — drive, desire, and the way you fight for and go after what you want.
The tell
How it shows up
- You are frustrated easily, with others and with yourself.
- A parent or authority figure fought your will early, and you fight back still.
- You accomplish more under pressure than anyone expects.
The hard part
The shadow
Named, not flattered
Self-sabotage and accidents. The anger has nowhere to go, so it goes into you, or out sideways at the people who did not deserve it. You can pick fights to feel alive.
The move
What to do with it
Somewhere to go
Find a competitive outlet with rules. When the anger comes, ask what you actually want and go get that instead. The square is the hardest-working aspect in the chart once it has a direction.
