Summer 2026 · the sky, read

Summer 2026.

Summer 2026 is an outer-planet summer: the slow, era-defining planets are all parked at the very start of new signs, so this is less about week-to-week drama and more about a foundation quietly being re-poured under everything.

What's actually happening, and when

April 26 – ongoing, 2026

Uranus is back in Gemini for the long haul

After a first pass in mid-2025 and a retreat into Taurus, Uranus re-entered Gemini for good on April 26, 2026, and stays until 2033. All summer it's shaking up how we communicate, learn, and move information — expect sudden shifts in media, tech, and what counts as 'true'. It was last here 1941–1949, the dawn of computing.

Since January 26, 2026

Neptune is settled in Aries

Neptune finished its long Pisces era and committed to Aries on January 26, 2026 (until ~2039). Summer is the first full stretch of the new dream: a more pioneering, do-it-yourself idealism — inspiring, and easy to run ahead of the facts. Keep one honest friend who'll tell you when the vision has outpaced reality.

May 6 – October 15, 2026

Pluto is retrograde in Aquarius

Pluto stationed retrograde on May 6 at about 5° Aquarius and stays retrograde until October 15. This isn't new demolition — it's the summer the deep changes Pluto started (in power, technology, who 'the people' are) come back around to be metabolized rather than fought. Review, don't relaunch.

All summer

Saturn is early in Aries

Saturn is in the opening degrees of Aries, asking a blunt question wherever Aries sits in your chart: are you actually doing the thing, or just talking about doing it? Saturn rewards the started-and-finished over the planned-and-deferred. Pick the one structure that's yours and put real work into it this season.

August 12 & 28, 2026

Two eclipses close the summer

Summer's one burst of fast drama lands at the very end. A total solar eclipse falls at about 20° Leo on August 12 — a new moon that resets the Leo part of your chart (where you want to be seen, what you put your name on), with totality crossing Greenland, Iceland, and a sliver of Spain. Two weeks later, a partial lunar eclipse at about 5° Pisces on August 28 brings something on the Pisces side to a head. Eclipses speed up what was already loosening; they don't strike from nowhere. These are the last eclipses of 2026 — the next season waits until February 2027.

The throughline

What ties it together

The read

The shape of the season

The headline is that Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn are all in the early degrees of their signs at once — the slow planets resetting together. That's rare, and it's why 2026 feels like a foundation year more than a fireworks year.

Practically: this is a summer for building and re-pouring, not for waiting on a single dramatic date. The change is structural and it's already underway.

What to do with it

The Danu signature

Somewhere to go

Pick the one area of your life that's quietly being rebuilt — work, the way you communicate, what you believe in — and make a small, real, finished move there this summer instead of waiting for a 'better' sky. The outer planets reward the person who builds during the reset, not the one who braces for it.

Common questions

Questions, answered

Are there eclipses in summer 2026?

Yes, two, both in August. A total solar eclipse at about 20° Leo on August 12 (totality crosses Greenland, Iceland, and northern Spain) and a partial lunar eclipse at about 5° Pisces on August 28. They're the last eclipses of 2026; the next eclipse season is February 2027.

Is Mercury retrograde in summer 2026?

Yes — from June 29 to July 23, in Cancer. It's the middle of 2026's three retrogrades, all of which fall in water signs. A good window for revising and reconnecting, a poor one for launching or signing without a careful second read.

What's the most important thing happening in summer 2026?

The outer-planet reset. Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, and Saturn are all parked in the early degrees of their signs at once — a rare alignment that makes 2026 a foundation year. The change is slow and already underway, which is why the summer rewards building over waiting for a single dramatic date.
